2025 BLUFFTON BULLDOG CHEER PRACTICE INFORMATION

PRACTICE INFORMATION

     • Our first practice is July 28, 2025 and Location is TBD.  We will begin our cheer camp on July 7th at the Bluffton Middle School. Practices, during the regular season will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Our coaches are all volunteers, giving their time. We expect for the cheerleaders to arrive promptly and be ready to cheer at 6:00p.m. Also, for parents to be there and ready to pick up promptly at 7:30. Cheerleaders will only be dismissed to an approved guardian.

     • Please make sure that your child has a water bottle with ONLY water and that their name is on it for every practice.

     • Practice attire should consist of comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Hair must be pulled up into a ponytail and away from face. NO BEADS, BARRETTS, OR BOBBY PINS  in their hair. No skirts, tube tops or crop tops. ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY , with the exception of  medical or religious reasons. It must be cleared by your coach and taped in place. This is a safety issue! Parents please check before they get out of the car. We are not responsible for items lost during games or practices. Smiles are a very important part of your attire. It is also important that you wear the proper undergarments to practices and games. You will be sweating and near other girls so please be sure to use deodorant.

RULES FOR PARENTS DURING PRACTICE

     • ALL PRACTICES ARE CLOSED PRACTICES. This mainly has to do with our insurance policy. However, it is also extremely distracting for everyone if parents are there. Please drop your child off with their designated person, coach, team mom, or teen assistant. Please do not leave your child unless someone is there. Coaches are not responsible for children left without a coach/representative present.

     • Please send your Cheerleader with a large bottle of water only DAILY to practice. Please make sure that it’s labeled.

Practices will end promptly at 7:30. Please be on time to pick up your child. At least one Coach will stay until all athletes are picked up. **Please be courteous and be on time to pick up your athlete. Our coaches are volunteers and have families and their own children to put to bed! **

PRACTICE CANCELLATIONS

     • Due to the nature of Low Country, practices may be cancelled due to storms. We try to cancel at least 30 minutes prior to practice starting. However, many times storms change their paths and don't follow the weather predictions. Our athletes are strong enough to practice in light rain but if lightening is detected in the area, practice will be cancelled and we expect our athletes to be promptly picked up.

     • When practices are canceled we will communicate through our Athlete's Fan Club mass text communication. Please make sure you are signed up. **We understand that it will not always be the guardian picking up the child. Please let the team moms know all the phone numbers that need to be notified of practice cancellations. This could be neighbors, grandparents, etc.**

CONDUCT AND SPORTSMANSHIP

     • Honesty, respect, dependability, enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude are key to success. This organization will not tolerate unruly and/or disrespectful behavior from anyone! Fighting, physical or verbal threats, or general “bad mouthing” of others will not be tolerated. You, and/or child, will be dismissed from the team. Everyone is required to sign a code of conduct. This includes athletes, parents, and coaches. You are a part of one of the leading programs in the Low Country. We ask that you lead by example.

     • If there is a problem, we ask that you schedule a time to speak with your coach about it before or after practice and not during a practice or game. Our time is limited with our athletes. If an issue is unresolved through speaking with the coach, please contact Marcia or Kira.

VOLUNTEERS

• We are an ALL volunteer organization. ALL of our time is precious. In order to make our organization work, we all have to give. Parents are required to volunteer. **Coaches/Athletes/Parents, all have a Code of Ethics to adhere to. Please read over them. If you feel anyone is not following these guidelines and/or someone has made you or your athlete uncomfortable please contact Marcia Frazier  immediately. Our Goal is to provide a safe, conflict free environment for everyone involved in the Bluffton Bulldog Organization***
